S-i-l-v-a-n-a  C-a-p-r-a belongs to the new generation of versatile Argentinean dancers who have developed their own personal style thanks to the study of ballet, contemporary dance, folk dancing and Argentine Tango. Her youth and experience combined have helped her to create an up to date view of the Argentinean passion: “ Tango”. She started her professional dance career in 1999 working for the “Ballet Folclorico Nacional de Argentina” touring around the world. In 2005 she joined the company Casino Solverde in Portugal as one of the dancers in “Tango Show”, after that, in 2006 she worked for Belinda King Creative Productions until the end of 2007. Since 2008 she has become the permanent dance partner of R-o-b-e-r-t-o  H-e-r-r-e-r-a  in the show “Tango” directed by him as well as teaching and performing with him around various international tango festivals.

Tango, Milonga & Vals

 

The workshop focuses on the use of inverted and moving sacadas as well as parallelism and invasions within the context of tango, milonga and vals.

 

The workshop is aimed at an intermediate/advanced level. It will last 3 hours with a break of 15 minutes

 

The cost £50 per person; limited to 15 couples only. Booking in advance is highly recommended. Book before 30th March, and get £5 off. Tea, coffee and snacks included.

Playing with Tango:

 

The class will take place during the usual open intermediate class, it ill be focused on the creativity, improvisation and dialogue between the bodies. It is aimed at an open intermediate level.

 

After the class R-o-b-e-r-t-o  &  S-i-l-v-a-n-a  will perform exclusively for Zero Hour

The class will start at 7.30 until 9pm and the Milonga will be from 9pm until 2 am  

 

Master, choreographer and dancer of national and international renown, R-o-b-e-r-t-o   H-e-r-r-e-r-a was the principal dancer of the Argentinean National Ballet directed by Santiago Ayala “El Chúcaro” and Norma Viola. In 1986 he was the principal male dancer in the film “Tango Bar”., was part of the cast of “Tango Argentino” in 1992 and 2006 in Buenos Aires and in the year 2000 on Broadway. From 1993 to 1995 he was the principal male dancer of “Tango Pasión” with the Orchestra Sexteto Mayor. In 1995 he created, directed and interpreted “Tango, Una Historia”, which he performed until 2001 in the historic tango bar “El Querandi” in Buenos Aires. He was then the principal male dancer of the Gran Orquesta of Maestro Osvaldo Pugliese. In June 2006 he took part in the widely-acclaimed show “Buenos Aires Tango 3” in Paris and Brussels with the orchestras El Arranque, Vale Tango and Decarísimo. The same show was then successfully performed for two weeks in September 2006 at the Auditorium in Rome. In March 2007 Roberto took part in a new tour of the same show, together with Orquesta El Arranque, in Brescia and Hong Kong, where it sold out for two weeks at the prestigious Hong Kong Arts Festival. At the beginning of 2004, he formed his own company, Compañía Argentina de Tango, with which he has already created, directed and performed two shows: “Tango Nuevo” (Argentina 2004, Italy 2005, Singapore and Bali 2007) and “Tango” (Italy 2007, with a new tour planned for Jan./Feb. 2008).
